BASF Succession Plan: Sales Leadership

• Mark Spiteri to succeed David Priestley as National Sales Manager, Coatings division, BASF Australia Ltd.
• Appointment of new Business Development Manager in QLD & N.S.W.
• New position focuses on W.A, S.A, TAS and N.T.
• Key accounts team expansion.

Sydney, Australia, March 2018 – BASF’s Coatings division welcomes Mr. Mark Spiteri as National Sales Manager Australia and New Zealand. Mark will succeed Mr. David Priestley, in his upcoming retirement.

Mark joins BASF from an experienced career as a senior General Manager with a successful background in multi-site retail store sales and operations and managing large national sales teams in a business to business environment.

In addition, BASF has also made a number of role changes within the team and new faces joining the group.

“The changes that have taken place in our sales team are part of a long-term succession plan for our coatings team,” said Tony Wiggins, Head of Coatings, ANZ for BASF Australia Ltd. “During the past ten years, David Priestley has successfully committed himself to the company and his national role. He will be sorely missed by the BASF team. We are fortunate to have Mark join our team and is an experienced successor for the National Sales Manager role.”

Shaun Batty has been appointed as the Business Development Manager, QLD. Shaun has an extensive history in the trade as a qualified panel beater and spray painter, business owner and over five years as 3M State Manager in their automotive division.

Ian Johnson, who has been employed with BASF for fourteen years has transitioned from Technical Sales Support Manager to Business Development Manager, NSW. The Technical Sales Support Manager role has been filled by David Handcock, who has 42 years’ experience in the industry.

Mark Harrison is no stranger to BASF automotive refinish brands having previously worked within a distributor of BASF products for nine years and has worked in a state management role. Mark commenced employment with BASF late last year as the Business Development Manager WA, SA, TAS, NT.

Joining Mark, is Mathew Pascoe, who has taken up the role of Business Development Representative in South Australia. Mathew has over 22 years trade experience.
